Nalini Gupta

Nalini Gupta is the Country Manager of Burberry India; one of the leading luxury fashion brands in the world. She began her professional career with a degree in Law followed by an MBA from Chandigarh. She made the decision of venturing out of the small city to Mumbai; the fast paced financial capital of India. She joined Asian Paints as a trainee; acquiring the skills of dealing with talent and resources in her stint in the HRD world.

Nalini’s keen eye for detail and her apt business acumen led her to joining the world’s largest Hong Kong based buying house Li & Fung, a Fortune 500 company and part owners of the Hongkong& Shanghai Bank (HSBC). She was managing some of the world’s most renowned apparel and accessories brands leading an entire group as their Divisional Head.

The switch to the retail scenario from a stable yet demanding sourcing role was a bold move – especially since Indian retail was still at its nascent stage. Never the one to be cowed down by challenges Nalini joined Genesis Colors Pvt Ltd as the COO and spearheaded the Satya Paul Brand.

With her efforts, vast knowledge, impeccable business development skills and her worldwide exposure gained in the earlier years she established Satya Paul as one of the most desirable prêt labels in India. Subsequent to nurturing Satya Paul as a strong brand with a national reach, she was appointed as the Country Manager of Burberry India to lead the path in the emerging and exciting world of luxury retail.

She has once again proven her core strengths as a leader with astute business sense and has lead Burberry to become one of the leading fashion brand in the country thus pitch forking India — as an important market on the global retail map for Burberry worldwide.

Loved and respected by her colleagues and protégées, a workaholic by nature, Nalini also finds time in testing her culinary skills and is an avid reader and a yoga enthusiast. Travelling and photography are her hidden passions, which she can only manifest on the rare holidays that she enjoys as a much-needed break from work
