RASCI:

“Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI) under aegis of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), A Government of India body, accredits Luxury Connect Business School (LCBS).”

Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI) under aegis of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), A Government of India body, accredits Luxury Connect Business School (LCBS).

The academic atmosphere in India is changing…changing very fast…

Focus is shifting from ‘information gathering’ to ‘knowledge absorption’…learning is changing from ‘bookish knowledge’ to ‘industry applicable knowledge’….grades are changing into ‘levels of learning’…levels are being recognized as ‘job ready’.

Finally, ‘Right to employment through skills’ is being acknowledged as the new mantra replacing the erstwhile systems.

The government is re-organizing the system such that instead of a single body accrediting all kinds of institutes and training schools, specialization is being given importance. Sector skill councils under the umbrella of NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) are defining the patterns of learning.

New terms like ‘QUALIFICATION PACKS’ and ‘NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS’ are being created. These are being designed as acceptable across the globe standards, subject to a specific industry sector specialization.

In short, vocational SKILL is the new buzz word.

LCBS has proudly created programs and systems which are in line with the above policy framework. Affiliation inspectors have certified our school as the only one following the prescribed international standard norms for retail in Luxury and premium goods & services. We have of course further specialized into ‘FASHION RETAIL’ and ‘LUXURY RETAIL’ via executive programs, on line programs, student programs and several certificate programs.

We are proud to be recognized and contribute to the prime Ministers vision of a ‘Skilled India’.

As India evolves as the second fastest growing economy of Asia and a significant number of HNI consumer emerge each year, the luxury segment is seeing an annual growth of 20%, thus moving India from the nascent stage of “ Introduction to Luxury” to the more evolved stage of “ strengthening of Luxury” requiring much deeper engagement from all stakeholders

This segment is fast evolving but Luxury Brands are finding it very challenging to harness the very discriminating and often very well travelled and evolved Indian Luxury Consumer. The key factor has been absence of enough qualified luxury professional.

In order to strengthen the Luxury sector in India and progress it to profitability and growth, the business has to evolve from a predominantly family run set of enterprises, to a highly professionally managed one, with immaculate planning of resources and management.

The quality of professionally trained personnel therefore will play an increasingly vital role to reverse the avoidable erratic trends often witnessed, such as many instances of Luxury Brands closing down in India, due to several bad management decisions, be it poor locations resulting in low footfalls and this poor bottom lines. This would then start going sour due to lack of mutual understanding of goals, the commitment to best practices and skill up gradation required.

This specially tailored program on Luxury Management targets the management and manpower of the India Partners of Luxury brands, which are often unable to evolve a fill and deep understanding of the brands core values. Sales personnel are therefore unable to fully and effectively communicate on Brands’s DNA to Indian clientele.

Indian luxury started off with managers promoted from managing premium brands to Luxury brands. Few of them were formally professionally educated to handle Luxury.

However, the successful Luxury brands in India have been the brainchild of professionals who have been formally educated in Luxury. Traditional manpower will therefore need to upgrade them by undergoing professional training in Luxury. Luxury business owners now understand that their employees’ experience if supported by formal Luxury Training & Education can greatly enhance their business.

Identifying this surging need, Luxury Connect in collaboration with SDA Bocconi School of Management has introduced Luxury Brand Management program in India. This program has the formal endorsement and approval of Fondazione Altagamma as the most updated and suitable short term executive management course. Details of the program have been made available in the attached brochure.
