“Luxury is the ease of a t-shirt in a very expensive dress.”
– Karl Lagerfeld

The word luxury itself carries a value. When I first started my journey as a luxury branding student, I had my doubts whether I’d fit in or not but after spending a whole semester here, I can proudly say that I will see great success in future.

The three-day long induction was an enlightening experience as id believed it to be. I met my new batchmates and added yet another field trip to my experiences up until now. The feature for me was the panel welcomed at the last day to impact their bits of knowledge to us. Overall, it was another fun learning experience for me.

The first day started casually with me as a volunteer to welcome my new batchmates. We had interesting ice breaking sessions and got to know each other. Afterwards, I and Amandeep Ma’am took the students for a campus tour and some refreshments. We later on had an interesting interactive session with Mr. Abhay Gupta (Founder &CEO), Mr. Akshay Gupta and Ms. Aarti Vij. All the rules and regulations were thoroughly explained and addressed by Aarti Ma’am. I had an informal chat with our new batchmates and explained them about the industrial visit. Later on, they were briefed on the same as well.

The next day we visited the luxurious mall i.e. The Chanakya Mall. We had the honor to visit these worlds known brands: Hermès, Chanel, Ethos Summit, Rolex, Panerai and Girard Perregaux. I personally visited Tiffany and I just loved it. I was pleased to see that everything we had studied so far came into reality. I could relate to the working and the case studies I did on few brands additionally assisted me with identifying with the brand significantly more. As luxury is all about the experiences, it focused more on my experience than products. I was more focused on how we were dealt with and how proud one was towards their work. Every individual we met were profoundly into their brand and encouraged us to do the same when we join the industry.

The following day we gave our presentations on everything we learnt and had a conversation with the panelist. We were honored to welcome Ms. Deepti Dhingra (Senior Leasing Manger@DLF), Ms. Varija Bajaj (Fashion Designer) and Mr. Abhijit Das (CMO@DDFS). They were extremely excited and humble while conversing with us. The key action item for me was to discover what i am passionate about and afterwards work on the same. The primary plan behind welcoming these individuals was to make us knowledgeable with the business at all fronts, the store end which we visited the earlier day and the administrators to assist us with giving us an understanding on how the industry functions.

All things considered, it was an exceptionally instructive experience and i had the chance to learn new viewpoints on how i ought to be looking forward as a future aspirant.

Thank You.
