MBA in Luxury Brand Management – Induction

Starting an MBA program, especially in Luxury Brand Management, is an exciting journey filled with opportunities and challenges. Imagine diving into a 3-day induction program that sets the stage for your MBA adventure. In this blog, let’s explore what to expect during those crucial first days, the insights gained, and the connections made as you kickstart your MBA journey.

On day 1, we were asked to come to college for an introduction round. We met our classmates, discussed our program and school choices, and received a warm welcome from the faculty with goodies and personalized letters. The faculty introduced us to the subjects we’ll be studying throughout the year and the college rules.

Some previous batch students helped us bond with our classmates, gave us a campus tour, and shared their experiences, making us feel more at home. Snacks were provided, and we had a blast playing foosball and getting to know each other better. The ice-breaking session at the end of the day helped us understand each other’s personalities and the importance of unity.

On day 2, we visited The Chanakya Mall in Delhi to understand how luxury brands operate. We learned about brand perception, teamwork, company frameworks, store aesthetics, and staff knowledge, gaining valuable insights into the luxury sector. We visited brands such as Rolex, Panerai, Jaeger-leCoulture, Ethos Summit, Girard Perregaux & Chanel. These renowned brands are synonymous with excellence, fine craftsmanship, and enduring elegance within the realm of luxury watches and fashion.

Our journey began at Rolex, celebrated for its precision and innovative watchmaking techniques. Visitors will have the privilege of witnessing first-hand; the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail invested in each Rolex timepiece, reflecting the brand’s steadfast dedication to quality and heritage.

Next, we ventured into the realm of Panerai, a brand exuding both adventure and refinement. Exploring the Panerai store offers profound insights into the brand’s distinctive history and its deep connection to the world of exploration, with esteemed ambassadors such as Jason Statham embodying the spirit of adventure.

Jaeger-LeCoultre, renowned for its intricate complications and graceful designs, extends an invitation for visitors to delve into the artistry behind its timeless timepieces. The store visit promises to showcase the brand’s mastery of watchmaking and its rich legacy of innovation.

Ethos Summit, renowned as a premier destination for luxury watches and accessories, presents a curated selection of prestigious brands, including Rolex and Omega. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a diverse array of luxury timepieces while enjoying exceptional customer service.

Girard-Perregaux, esteemed for its Swiss heritage and pioneering watchmaking techniques, offers a glimpse into its legacy of craftsmanship and innovation. Visitors will come to appreciate the brand’s unwavering commitment to tradition and excellence.

Finally, we concluded our tour at Chanel, a fashion powerhouse synonymous with sophistication and style. Visitors are invited to explore the iconic designs and timeless creations of Chanel, from the classic Chanel suit to the legendary Chanel No. 5 perfume, showcasing the brand’s enduring influence in the realm of fashion.

For day 3, we had to make presentations about our mall visit and share our learnings. Each student offered their unique perspective, allowing us to learn from each other’s insights. Afterward, Mr. Abhay Gupta gave us feedback to improve our presentations. The induction concluded with a panel discussion featuring industry experts. The panel comprised of Mr. Abhishek Malik representing the hospitality sector, Mr. Jyoti Das representing the watchmaking industry, and Ms. Shalini Lambah representing the aviation sector. Their personal stories and experiences provided a deeper understanding of the luxury business, making the learning experience truly enriching. We discovered a new concept called Migration, an industry which helps with immigration, Residency & Citizenship overseas through investments. Adding to our growing knowledge base, every day brings new learning opportunities, and there are surely many more to come in the future. Reflecting on the well-structured induction, I’m excited about what the future holds. Choosing LCBS for an MBA in Luxury Brand Management feels like the right decision, and I’m confident that it will be an amazing experience.
