Unveiling Luxury: My 3-Day MBA Induction at Luxury Connect Business School

khusboo Gupta

Entering the world of luxury brand management, a journey filled with glamour, sophistication, and excellence. My three-day induction program at Luxury Connect Business School was a bewitching introduction to this realm.

Day 1: A Grand Beginning

Our journey began with a meeting that set the tone for the entire program. We had the honour of meeting the school’s Founder and CEO, Mr. Abhay Gupta, a name associated with establishing various luxury brands like Versace and Corneliani in India. His insights and experience in the luxury industry were truly impressive.

Subsequently, we were introduced to our esteemed faculty, staff members, and fellow course colleagues. A feeling of hopefulness and excitement was in the air. The campus tour showcased the school’s commitment to luxury, with progressive facilities that mirrored the opulence we were here to learn about.

An engaging session led by our faculty member, Rashmi Mam, was conducted to break the ice and advance connections among us. It was a perfect way to kick-start our journey.

Day 2: The Luxury Odyssey

The second day was an impressive journey into the world of luxury. The highlight was an industry visit to renowned brands, including Corneliani, Michael Kors, Versace, Tumi, Hugo Boss, and Sarita Handa, located at the DLF Emporio Mall in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. This mall holds the distinction of being India’s first luxury mall, increasing significance to our experience.

During this visit, we explored the complexities of luxury perception and marketing. We witnessed firsthand what set apart the world of luxury from the ordinary and why it remains the epitome of sophistication and exclusivity. This illuminating experience left us with a deep understanding of the heart and soul of luxury.

We created a presentation to share our experiences and insights as part of the industry visit. This exercise challenged us to articulate what we had learned and how it had impacted us.

Day 3: Wisdom from Titans

The third day promised a thrilling panel discussion session featuring remarkable high achievers in the luxury industry like Mr. Hemant Mediratta, CEO of HMC and former Oberoi’s Hotel executive; Mrs. Rachana Arora, the boutique manager at Chanel Chanakya; Mrs. Nalini Gupta, the country head at Ex-Burberry India; and Ananya Rajpoot, the marketing head at DLF Limited.

Their wisdom and insights were invaluable. They shared their journeys, discussed the challenges in the luxury industry, and imparted advice that will undoubtedly guide us throughout our MBA program.

In conclusion, the first day was all about introductions. The second day gave us an insight into what luxury is, and on the third day, through the panel discussion, we were shown what we could aspire to become in this remarkable field.

In just three days, the Luxury Connect Business School’s induction program left an indelible mark on me. I’m not just embarking on an educational journey but delving into a world of opulence, sophistication, and prestige. The experiences of these three days have ignited a fire within me to excel in the realm of luxury brand management, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
