The orientation for the same was conducted on the 23rd, 24thand 25th of this month of March. I’m from Pune, Maharashtra and we were invited to college at Gurgaon, Delhi to experience the orientation however, unfortunately I wasn’t able to commute to Delhi but my experience has still been very informative and interesting. I believe there is so much more to learn and understand about the course that is offered here at luxury connect.
On 23rd, Wednesday we started off by 11 AM we were welcomed by Akshay and Abhay sir, then we went on to introducing ourselves and understanding each other. Later the cohort was taken for a campus tour which was followed by a quick break. An English exercise kept us occupied until Akshay sir brought attention towards the rules and regulations of the college. We were then addressed by Abhay sir, it was a privilege to meet the man himself.
The second day was allotted for industrial visits. The students who were at college visited various luxury brand retail stores and were asked to share their experiences in form of presentations that indeed helped me understand not only the purpose of the visits but also how different bands represent themselves differently. My fellow classmates visited Corneliani, Michael Kors, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo and Paul Smith.Their presentations represented each brand efficiently but of course subjective bias and personal opinions were involved, nonetheless it was definitely a great learning window for me.
The orientation couldn’t have had a better conclusion as we got an opportunity to interact with some of the luxury sector professionals and we received some valuable insights about the current scenarios for luxury brands in India and how this particular sector shows a promising scope for growth. The panel was generous to answer all the questions patiently, they also shed light on the emerging trends, forms of business and on the power of social media as well as importance of effective digital marketing.
I am grateful and look forward to learning interacting more with my peers and faculty in addition to taking good advantage of the knowledge that the course has to offer.
